Section I - Autism
x

What is autism? Autism is a neurotype, a way the brain can work. It is caused by a lapse in synaptic pruning in early childhood leading to a myriad of symptoms. It is my personal belief that what we now recognize as autism is truly a collection of other yet unnamed disorders.

Some of the most accepted autistic orginizations are ASAN and The Autistic Womens Network. Autism Speaks is widley considered a hate group due to their work in eugenics and harmful views about "curing" autism. The autistic community as a whole does not want a cure, we belive that being autistic is a core part of who we are and if you removed it we would be a totally different person

This is the widely accepted neurodiversity (autism) symbol:

Ausitsm Info of the Month; Stimming, stimming is slang for Self Stimulatory Behaivors. Stimming is a nessecary for the health and happiness of autistic individuals. It is often used as a self soothing technique or an expression of strong emotion. Stimming is classically depicted as flapping of hands or rocking, but can be any number of things from singing, dancing, flow arts, to fidget tools, to stuffed animals or other comfort objects.

Section II - DID/OSDD

DID - Dissociative Identity Disorder | OSDD - Other Specified Dissociative Disorder

What is DID? DID is a lack of cohesion in the brain due to trauma. All children have a fragmented personality between age 5-8 normally developing children coalece into one cohesive personality. In cases of instability and trauma the brain never feels safe enough to do this and instead maintains different self states (alters) often with high amnesia between self states. This is the brain protecting the child from the instability and trauma.

OSDD is very simmilar to DID but does not require the same diagnostic critera. For a diagnosis of OSDD you must display at least one of the following traits, as well as requiring that these things are detrimental to your daily functioning.

  • Chronic and recurrent syndromes of mixed dissociative symptoms
  • Identity disturbance due to prolonged and intense coercive persuasion
  • Acute dissociative reactions to stressful events
  • Dissociative trance

A Rant About the Innacuracies of Modern Paleoart. It is becoming more widely reckognized that Dinosaurs likely had feathers instead of scales. However these fine fossils are still subject to Shrink Wrapping, where skin is wrapped tightly over the bones with little accountance for fleshy bits. Using this same style on modern animals results in entierly unreckognizable creatures.
